Germany Insider Tips

Germany | While Bavarian Oompah bands play during the day, celebrations go well into the evening, singing songs and dancing on the benches.

Germany | Oktoberfest beers are stronger than regular beers, containing 6% alcohol, and are specially brewed for the annual celebration. And when you order a beer from a beer hall or tent, be ready for a signature liter glass called a MAB, which contains two pints of beer. Non-alcoholic drink options are also available, including apfelschorle, a sparkling apple drink or Spezi, a regular soda choice in Bavaria.

Germany | Considered one of the most beautiful castles in the world, Neuschwanstein Castle is a relatively new creation. Built in the late 1800s by Bavarian King Ludwig II, the monarch instructed architects to design something that would reflect both the operas of Richard Wagner and the romantic ideals of the Middle Agens. With the snowcapped Alps as a backdrop and the Bavarian plains spread beneath, the castle is a cinema darling having appeared in numerous films including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Great Escape.
