Day 1: Toronto, Canada
Located on the north shore of Lake Ontario, arrive in Toronto, a dynamic metropolis with a core of soaring skyscrapers and abundant green spaces, and transfer to the port terminal for embarkation aboard M/V Victory I. Check in to your spacious stateroom before a brief onboard introduction. Meet and mingle with your fellow travelers and hospitable crew for a cheerful welcome reception complete with open-bar and hors d'oeuvres. Then, bid a bon voyage, reveling in the stunning coastal views as the ship departs towards Niagara Falls.
Day 2: Niagara Falls/Welland Canal
Indulge in a delicious breakfast onboard as you spend the morning at leisure, as the ship cruises to Port Colbourne on the southern end of the Welland Canal. Disembark for a drive through the Niagara Wine Region on your way to Niagara Falls where you will board the Hornblower for the Voyage of the Falls excursion. Day 3: Cleveland, Ohio
Wake up in Cleveland this morning, savoring a private breakfast in your stateroom or join your fellow sailors for your first meal of the day. Then, experience this Midwestern capital beginning with an all-inclusive trolley tour, viewing the Tiffany Windows at Wade Memorial Chapel and stopping at the historic West Side Market, touted as the city's oldest publicly owned market. Head to the shores of Lake Erie this afternoon to uncover the energy, passion and the celebrated musical chapters of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Relax onboard tonight with a mouthwatering culinary experience as you continue to cruise to your next port.
Day 4: Detroit, Michigan
Sip your morning juice with breakfast as you prepare for today's port exploration. Then, experience this "Motor City", with a visit to the Henry Ford Museum, showcasing three centuries of American history, culture, invention and innovation through themed collections and interactive exhibits including a viewing of the limousine that carried JFK on his fateful day, the Rosa Park bus, and the Lincoln rocker from the Ford's Theater. For those who wish to explore on your own, discover the beautiful Art Deco architecture of downtown Detroit or discover the extraordinary collection at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Return to the ship at any time to enjoy daily meals included onboard.
Day 5: Lake Huron
Revel in a relaxing day onboard as you cruise Lake Huron, the second largest Great Lake. Sit back and watch the miles of scenic shoreline go by from the open-air lounge. Renew yourself with a relaxing spa treatment or immerse in an onboard enrichment program. Then, delight in pre-dinner cocktail party as a prelude to a gourmet dinner in the ship's main dining room. After your tantalizing meal, gather around the grand piano for an old fashioned sing-along or keep the fun going as you dance the night away.
Day 6: Sault Saint Marie, Ontario
As you enjoy your morning coffee or workout on board, the ship will transit the Soo Locks from Lake Huron into Lake Superior at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan where you may disembark with your choice of shore excursions. Discover Ontario's iconic bushplane and firefighting history at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Center, celebrating the spirit of early aviation, the pilots and forestry-related artifacts. Then, visit Ermatinger-Clergue National Historic Site, with an interactive experience at the Heritage Discovery Centre and two of the oldest stone buildings depicting life from the 1800s. For an excursion on the Michigan side, visit the Valley Camp Museum Ship, home to more than over 100 exhibits within 20,000 square feet of cargo holds and aquariums stocked with marine life of the Great Lakes region.
Day 7: Little Current, Manitoulin Islands
Sometimes referred to as the sixth Great Lake, sail into the breathtaking scenery of Georgian Bay this morning as the ship cruises to Manitoulin Island, the largest freshwater island in the world. Go ashore to learn about the island's nautical and native heritage joined together as you visit the Immaculate Conception Church and its welcoming native influences. Then, uncover the enduring traditions of the Ojibwe Tribe, the First Nations people in continental North America, with a walk through the art galleries and exhibits, plus enjoy a healing ritual and captivating dance performance.
Day 8: Mackinac Island
Connecting Lake Huron to Lake Michigan, awaken this morning in the Straights of Mackinac. A national historic landmark only four square miles long with no cars allowed, immerse in the Victoria-era charm. Tour Fort Mackinac, learning its role in the War of 1812, and reveling in the views from the Grand Hotel's verandah, the longest in the world, indulging in the hotel's infamous Grand Luncheon Buffet. Take a horse-drawn carriage ride on your own back to town for a little shopping and sightseeing before your return to the ship.
This evening, gather with your fellow travelers for the pre-dinner cocktail, plus a colorful history presentation of Mackinac Island and its world-famous hotel from the Grand Hotel's resident historian Bob Tagatz.
Day 9: Lake Michigan
Spend a leisurely day onboard as you cruise Lake Michigan, the world's sixth largest lake and the only Great Lake located entirely within the United States. Sample traditional afternoon tea or sip your favorite beverage on deck as you savor the spectacular passing views. After a scenic day of cruising, celebrate your Great Lake voyage with a festive farewell reception, toasting to your fellow travelers and crew, followed by dinner in the ship's main dining room.
Day 10: Chicago, Illinois
Your final morning concludes in the famous "Windy City", home to a vibrant art, music and theater scene, as well as world-class shopping and dining. Following your breakfast this morning, disembark at the designated time and transfer to your post-cruise hotel or airport for your flight home to begin planning your next cruising adventure in the Great Lakes of North America.
