Itinerary

Day 1: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Transfer to the luxurious AmaSiena for embarkation. After you settle into your stateroom, meet your fellow travelers tonight at a welcome reception and dinner.

Day 2: Amsterdam

Following a delicious breakfast onboard this morning, disembark for a day of exploration in this stunning capital city, brimming with artistic heritage, vibrant character and sights dating back to the Golden Age. Considered a national treasure, begin with a gentle ride through Amsterdam's legendary canals along the banks of centuries old bridges, canal houses and traditional houseboats. Glide past the canal-side terraces, museums, old churches, historic neighborhoods and iconic, seasonal flower lined streets. Return to the ship at any time to enjoy daily meals included onboard.

Day 3: Cologne, Germany

Begin your day with buffet-style or full-service dining in the main dining room. Then, embark on a variety of optional excursions in the 2,000-year-old city of Cologne. Medieval and Gothic, uncover the secrets of the Cologne Cathedral, home to the shrine of the Magi, before a city tour featuring Rathause, and Germany's oldest town hall, the Overstolzenhaus and Festival Hall. For an active experience, ride a bicycle along the Rhine through Stadgarten or sample Kolsch beer, only made in Cologne, and be sure to enjoy a taste of potato pancakes called Reibekuchen, in a local tavern.

Day 4: Rudesheim

After your morning coffee or workout onboard, go ashore to discover Rudesheim. Head to the skies for a thrilling gondola ride, marveling at stunning vineyard views before a wine tasting on the ground. Adventure seekers may desire to hike through beautiful vineyards or bike ride along the riverbanks of the Rhine to Schloss Johannisberg. As your day continues, visit Siegfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum, home to a vast collection of self-playing musical instruments or relax with an authentic Rudesheimer coffee, ceremoniously created with brandy, coffee and whipped cream. Then, relax onboard tonight with a mouthwatering made-to-order culinary experience and follow the stars in the sky as you cruise ahead to your next port.

Day 5: Mainz/Lahnstein

Located at the junction of the Main and Rhine Rivers, arrive in Mainz, home to half-timbered houses, medieval market squares and historic treasures. Enjoy a guided experience of the Romanesque cathedral and discover the blue, scriptural stained-glass windows of Chagall. You may also choose to explore the city on a guided bike ride or visit The Gutenberg Museum, the Schillerplatz or Market on your own. In the afternoon, hop onboard for a cruise through the Rhine River Gorge to Lahnstein and delight in the medieval Lahneck Castle.

Day 6:  Moselle Valley/Cochem

Be sure to catch sight of the Moselle River valley, its dotted with charming villages, centuries-old castles and steep vineyards along the way to picturesque Cochem, home to the Reichsburg Castle. Join a guided walk through this majestic castle; sightsee on a guided bicycle ride through the city, or discover your own adventure to one of Europe's oldest working mustard mills, for a taste of the famous condiment.

Day 7: Bernkastel-Kaus

Celebrate your final port excursion today with an exciting guided walk through Bernkastel. Marvel at the medieval and Renaissance relics as you stroll to the colorful Old Town center, followed by a visit to winery and wine tasting. With so many scenic paths along the Moselle River, cycling enthusiasts can choose a guided bike ride or opt for a hike to the ancient Landshut Castle ruins, with commanding views over the town.

This evening, don your fancy garb and raise a glass to the ship's captain with a special cocktail and farewell gala dinner. Indulge in tantalizing culinary masterpieces highlighting the cultures and traditions of the regions, followed by live entertainment onboard. Make a toast under the stars to celebrate a wonderful river voyage as the ship departs for its final port.

Day 8: Luxembourg

Savor a delightful breakfast this morning before you disembark and transfer to the airport for your flight home or post cruise destination. Until we meet again . . . Bon Voyage!
