Itinerary

Day 1: Your Home Town / Island of Hawaii

Board your comfortable flight for the land of Aloha with your family. Upon arrival, pick up your pre-registered Hertz SUVs for the scenic drive to Champions Ridge at Mauna Lani #17. This luxury vacation rental offers five bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths with plenty of room for grandparents, aunts and uncles, parents, kids and cousins to spend seven nights. Set in a prestigious gated community with a private Beach Club and oceanside restaurant, your home comfortably accommodates 10 guests. Delight in vaulted ceilings, large plantation shutter windows, Tommy Bahama accents, a private pool and hot tub, outdoor BBQ grill and covered lanai, and more than 5,000 square feet of living space.

Celebrate your family tonight at NaPua's restaurant, offering locally farmed foods and a Hawaiian fusion menu. While the adults will feast on poke, ulu, seared ahi and lamb, the kids menu has a friendly approach with burgers, fish and rice, smoothies and more. Wrap up your meal with a classic mai tai and a sweet sorbet trio for the little ones.

Day 2: Island of Hawaii

With a fully equipped kitchen, enjoy a home-cooked breakfast this morning before a day of exploration at your leisure. Hop in your cars and explore the beachside town of Kona, take in island history at Hulihee Palace, Mokuaikaua Church or the Ahu'ena Heiau, find the perfect souvenir at one of the quaint shops, or pick up some snorkel equipment and explore the calm clear waters in search of tropical fish and honu, Hawaiian green sea turtles.

Or, head to Kealakekua Bay, where Captain James Cook first set foot in 1778. Nearby, find Puuhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park, a well-restored Hawaiian place of refuge, or Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park, a 1,160-acre park, to explore heiau (temples), fishponds and pertroglyphs. Then, enjoy dinner back in town.

Day 3: Island of Hawaii

Enjoy breakfast together before embarking on a full-day Kohala Waterfall Adventure. This fun off-road experience is perfect for all ages, with relaxed trail walks over charming foot bridges and historic taro terraces to arrive at an intimate waterfall with dramatic views of Pololu Valley. You'll then have the opportunity to swim in the cool waters under the waterfall or discover the quaint plantation village of Hawi.

Day 4: Island of Hawaii

Savor a quick breakfast before heading out to discover this diverse island on the Ultimate National Park Explorer Experience. This full-day guided adventure begins with a visit to Bay View Farms nestled on the slopes of Mauna Loa Volcano, where you will marvel at the spectacular vistas of Kealakekua Bay and Captain Cooks monument. Stop for a few minutes for a snack at Punalu'u Bake Shop, then enjoy a picnic-style lunch on Punalu'u Black Sand Beach. After re-fueling, head to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park for an educational experience at Kilauea Visitor's Center and Volcano Art Center. Here, you can explore the fames Sulphur Banks, hike Keanakako'I Crafter with its sinkholes and cracks in the road left behind in the 2018 eruption, and visit the culturally significant Mauna Ulu. You'll conclude your day of family fun at the Volcano House and its famous Volcano Winery. After sampling a few beverages, indulge in a hearty Hawaiian-style BBQ dinner, then relax on your return drive home.

Day 5: Island of Hawaii

After two days of island exploration, it's time to replenish and rejuvenate in your comfortable home. Lounge near your private pool with your favorite novel, pick up a few board games for some family entertainment or cuddle up on the couch with your little one for story time. In the evening, take advantage of the spacious backyard and outdoor dining area and create a BBQ dinner fit for a king.

Day 6:  Island of Hawaii

During the day, enjoy the complex amenities. Relax at the stunning white-sand beach cove at the Mauna Lani Beach Club, keep your workout routine with a Zumba class at the Mauan Lani Sports & Fitness Club, grab a racket for a game of tennis or tee off on one of two championship golf courses.

Celebrate your final evening with dinner on the slope of Mauna Kea at 6,500 feet high on the Mauna Kea Sunset & Star Gazing Experience. Enjoy a pre-sunset forest walk at 8,000 feet high in the sub-alpine dry forest. After dinner, marvel at the amazing sunset and night time sky full of stars as your guide illuminated the universe with their Celestron Telescope and you sip hot chocolate and snack on brownies.

Day 7: Island of Hawaii / Your Home Town

After a breakfast feast in your home-away-from-home, gather together for one last photo in your island paradise. Then, hop in your Hertz SUV rentals for your scenic drive back to the airport, and board you comfortable flight back home. Reminisce with each other while in flight and begin planning your next family, romantic or adventurous vacation. Aloha!
