Situated on the top of Ermou Street, just off Syntagma Square, the Electra Athens is the ideal hotel to explore Athens. One of the first roads to be designed in the original city plan, Ermou takes its name from Hermes, the god of commerce. A shopper’s paradise, designer and main street brands can be found here in shops old and new. Walking towards the Acropolis, the Plaka neighborhood, the ancient Agora and the new Acropolis Museum, is a few blocks away, while on the other side of Ermou str., Athens’ new hip district comes alive after dark with clubs and bars bustling with younger people. Just beyond that, Kolonaki, the upmarket neighborhood full of shops, cafes and restaurants on the left and the National Garden on the right, both offer choices for a fun afternoon.
