Jicaro Island Ecolodge is Nicaragua's top nature eco resort, located on a private island in the Granada Isletas of Lake Nicaragua, just a short boat ride from the colonial town of Granada with spectacular views of the Mombacho Volcano across the lake. Easy access from Managua International Airport or Liberia Airport in Costa Rica. From the Managua International Airport, it takes about an hour to get to the Colonial town of Granada. From here, it is another 10 minute ride to the Asese port, then take a 15 minute boat ride to Jicaro Island.

General Information

Nine private luxury casitas provide the perfect setting for romantic escapes, honeymoons, tours and activities as well as wellness and yoga retreats. Immerse yourself in a magical island experience filled with peace and tranquility. Recommended for adults and children 12 and above, however children eight - 12 are welcome during select seasons, usually March and April and June and July.

Room Details

Luxury two story house, a 'casita', raised up above the ground like a treehouse. The nine casitas on the island all have lake views and are only a short walk from the pool, restaurant, and wellness center. There is a private bedroom with a king size bed on the second floor. On the first floor, a spacious living area connects to an outside deck overlooking the lake. The casitas and the furniture are made locally from Rainforest Alliance certified wood. Most notably, the oversized hammock and comfy furniture of the deck will invite you to relax and feel the peace of this magical lake. Early morning coffee and late afternoon sundowner delivery service is available upon request. Casita amenities include private balconies, ceiling fans, organic soaps, lotions and shampoos and a computer-sized safe.

All-Inclusive

All of your meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the room rate, as well as roundtrip lake transfers from Granada's Asese Port to Jicaro Island.

Restaurants

Jicaro Island Bar and Restaurant serves great food produced from local ingredients. The restaurant and bar are at the center of the Jicaro experience with fabulous views across Nicaragua Lake. Breakfast and lunch are served a la carte and dinner is a choice of fresh daily specials created by our chef. Jicaro has an open kitchen right next to the restaurant, so it is a real treat to watch the chef prepare your dinner. The menu has plenty of options and prides itself on the selection of fresh fish from the lake and nearby pacific ocean, locally produced vegetables and fruit, and locally farmed chicken and beef.

Recreation

Enjoy an outdoor pool, watersports on Lake Nicaragua or a variety of tours and excursions.

Spa

The wellness center is located right on the lake and offers two spectacular open air treatment rooms with private showers. Massages range from Swedish to Shiatsu to Hot Stone treatments and are available on a daily basis.

Fitness

Daily yoga classes offered on a dedicated yoga deck on Lake Nicaragua.

Bird watching high in the forest canopy, kayaking around the many islands, zip lining through the tree tops and hiking up Mombacho volcano are just a few of the activity options nearby. Discover colonial grandeur of Granada, Masaya Volcano National Park, the outdoor market of Mayasa with its traditional Nicaraguan crafts and the beautiful crystal clear waters of Apoya Lagoon.
