Lizard Island is Australia's northernmost island beach resort, located 240 kilometres north of Cairns and 27 kilometres off the coast of North Queensland. Lizard Island is a National Park covering 1,013 hectares with 24 sandy beaches and a lagoon. Our resort is easily accessible from Cairns.

General Information

Beautiful, natural and wild and the most northern Great Barrier Reef resort, Lizard Island is a place reserved for the fortunate few. The beaches are plentiful, 24 in all, with fine powdery white sand, undisturbed but for the occasional footprints. Your island is for snorkelling, if you choose, or deep-sea game fishing, or diving at The Cod Hole, one of the world famous dive sites just a short boat ride away. Enjoy secluded picnics on private beaches, five star cuisine and indulging spa treatments.

Lizard Island presents elegant, yet understated Great Barrier Reef accommodations - luxurious rooms and suites. Ospreys Restaurant offers a special dining experience with an accent on fresh seafood and superb local produce, the daily changing menus draw on the flavors of modern Australian, Asian and European cuisine.

Greet barrier Reef diving and snorkeling, explore Anchor and Watson's bay on a catamaran or glass bottom paddle ski, motorized dinghies, snorkelling equipment and lessons, interpretive glass bottom boat tours, tennis - day and night with all equipment supplied, freshwater swimming pool, paddle ski tours, nature slide presentations.

Beach

Beautiful, 24 in all, with fine powdery white sand, undisturbed but for the occasional footprints.
