Itinerary

Christchurch City allows you to enjoy the Garden City’s many attractions which include Ferrymead Heritage Park, the International Antarctic Centre, Ko Tane Maori and Cultral experience, Christchurch Casino, punting on the Avon and the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve, and so much more. Christchurch is also the gateway to many activities and destinations beyond the city itself, you can ski, bungy jump, hike, mountain bike, raft, surf, swim, gold, see whales, visit wineries and gardens, and shop - all within 2 hours of the city!

Food and Dining

Each train has a fully licensed on-board café offering a range of snacks, beverages, hot and cold meals. Choose from a fresh muffin and hot coffee, or a cheese board accompanied by a glass of your favorite New Zealand beer or wine. Meals include sandwiches, soups, salads and a variety of hot mains - something to satisfy every taste bud.

Onboard Activities/Events

Each saloon carriage includes a GPS triggered journey commentary at your seat via passenger headphones, plus information displays and overhead HD video. Tune in for journey highlights, interesting stories, and detailed history of the areas travelled through.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of fresh alpine air rushing through your hair, and a trip out to the open air viewing carriage will give you just that. The open air carriages also ensure nothing gets between you, your camera, and the stunning New Zealand landscapes.
