General Info:

Precipitous, glacier-carved shorelines, colorful clapboard fishing cabins, and wispy, veil-like waterfalls gently twisting in seaside breezes: The Norwegian coastline offers perspectives and experiences unlike any other in Europe and this 7-day adventure makes the most of every opportunity. Embark from Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, and quickly traverse the North Sea to Sognefjord, the deepest and longest fjord in Norway. Take a ride on the acclaimed Flåmsbana Railway high into the remote mountains, then breathlessly descend by bike to the village below. Sample and savor endless variations of smoked salmon, briny caviar, and plump scallops. This is an unforgettable journey of stunning vistas, lingering twilights and enlightening discoveries of arts, foods and Viking traditions that shape our modern world today.

Type of Vessel

With only 212 guests, you begin to feel like it's your own private yacht almost as soon as you step aboard. The sitting area of your spacious suite gives you an expansive ocean view, making it a welcome retreat. When you're ready to make an appearance, the lounges, club, casino and library are waiting to be explored. Take some "you" time in the tranquil WindSpa, enjoy a dip in the pool, work off that decadent dessert in the Fitness Center and, of course, you are always welcome to visit the Bridge to examine navigation charts with the Captain. Star Breeze is large enough to pamper and entertain you, yet small enough to tuck into delightful tiny harbors and hidden coves that others can’t reach.

Itinerary

Day 1 | Edinburgh, Scotland: From the Firth of Forth, a UNESCO site, to the Royal Mile, Edinburgh is steeped in history. Edinburgh Castle. The Royal Botanic Gardens. The UNESCO site of Old Town. The wonders of Edinburgh are never ending. From one of Europe’s best-preserved castles to the world’s longest herbaceous border, a riot of color and culture pervades. In this city as old as Scotland itself, you’ll find the perfect blend of historic tradition and natural beauty.

Day 2 | At Sea

Day 3 | Scenic Cruising Sogenfjord Cruise up the longest and deepest fjord in Norway – and possibly the most beautiful. At its deepest the Sognefjord drops to more than 4,265 feet with the striking contrast of the mountains rising to more than 5,570 feet. You will be able to enjoy the scenery long into the evening due to the late sunsets.

Day 3 | Skjolden, Norway: Located at the end of picturesque Lusterfjord with its emerald-green waters from melting glaciers, Skjolden is nestled between Norway’s highest mountain range, Jotunheimen National Park and two glaciers. It is home to the wooden, 12th century Urnes Stave Church, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 4 | Flam, Norway: A tiny town of only 500 residents, yet people have been traveling here from all over since the end of the 19th century. You’ll understand why when you arrive. Take one of the world’s most breathtaking railroad journeys up the mountain to gasp at the fjord below.
Day 5 | Bergen, Norway: Colorful Bryggen, Bergen’s Hanseatic quay and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is so delightful you may find it difficult to explore further. But do. Watch the Huldras (forest nymphs) dance at Kjosfossen Waterfall, wander the narrow smau between the old buildings climbing the hillside.

Day 6 | Savanger, Norway: Here’s a day for exploration. Your ship will dock in the very city center near the oldest part of town. A short stroll will take you to Stavanger Cathedral, the best preserved medieval cathedral in Norway, the city center and cobblestone pedestrian streets. Just an hour’s boat trip away is the 2,000-foot-high Pulpit Rock with its magnificent views of the lovely Lysefjord.

Day 7 | At Sea
