Day 1 |  United States / Guatemala City, Guatemala

After your comfortable flight, your bilingual guide will escort you to your private transfer to the energetic capital city of Guatemala for an elegant three-night stay at The Westin Camino Real. Day 2 | Guatemala City / Tikal

Following a cup of your new favorite Guatemalan coffee, depart the hotel for fascinating full day excursion into the Mayan Biospheric world on the Tikal Experience. Home to hundreds of archaeological wonders, structures and extraordinary flora and fauna, this UNESCO World Heritage national park bears secrets of an iconic ancient urban civilization as you traverse the vast ruins, including temples, plazas and carved reliefs, with time to enjoy lunch in the beauty of the park.

Day 3 |  Guatemala City

Don your sunhat and hiking shoes this morning as you embark on the guided Pacaya Excursion featuring the most active volcano in Guatemala. Get up close to the lush tropical landscapes, and black lava rock paths and rivers in the Pacaya National Park, as you ascend to the peak for dramatic otherworldly vistas and sights of rising steam from the caldera for an exciting half day of adventure.

This afternoon, relax with a dip in the pool or indulge in a pampering body treatment at the spa. Then, begin your evening with the sounds of music and favorite Latin spirit from a menu of cocktails and international drinks at Bar Biltmore, followed by indulgent Italian-Mediterranean fusion at Gianni's.

Day 4 |  Guatemala City / Antigua

Take a last look at this remarkable city this morning after a hearty buffet breakfast. If time permits, explore local cultural attractions minutes away including the neo-colonial historic district, Mercado Central, the stately Metropolitan Cathedral, National Palace, Miraflores Museum and more on your own before your transfer shuttle to the Western Highlands of Antigua.

Day 6 |  Antigua / Lake Atitlan

Greet the day with a delicious buffet breakfast before participating in the nearby attractions Antigua has to offer. For a little adventure, hike up to the lookout point for the breathtaking views from Cerro de la Cruz. Visit the museums of Casa Santo Domingo; sample authentic dishes at Rincon Antigueno or peruse the artsy handicrafts of Mercado de Artesenias for a last glance at Antigua, prior to your transfer to Lake Atitlan.

Following your transfer shuttle to Lake Atitlan, check into a sophisticated boutique hideaway, Casa Palopo, for three exquisite nights. Day 7 |  Lake Atitlan

Your guide will direct you to the pier for a short voyage to the southwest shores of the lake. Explore this charming community as you learn about Mayan history and centuries-old culture, including the ancient practice of weaving traditional textiles. Visit art galleries, artisan workshops and open-air shopping venues and more, before an authentic lunch with a local family.

Enjoy the rest of your day experiencing the treasures of the Lake Atitlan shores or relaxing at your leisure. Take time to explore other indigenous villages or stroll the famous Calle Santander, lined with restaurants, bars and handicraft hawkers, for a taste of local life.

Day 8 | Lake Atitlan

Today's discovery begins at the most famous open-air market in the country on the Chichicastenango Excursion. Discover traditional medicines, produce, colorful textiles, crafts and more made from indigenous peoples who flock twice weekly to this vibrant market. Then, explore the 16th-century Church of Santo Tomaas, integrating traditional Mayan rituals and the Roman Catholic faith for a notable cultural experience.

Upon return, discover the lake on your own with a kayak or paddle board or unwind with a spa treatment or yoga class. Indulge in a pre-scheduled teatime or try your hand at making traditional Guatemalan tortillas at the Tortilla Bar. Then, this evening, dine by candlelight on the open lakeside terrace at 6.8 Palopo Restaurant, savoring exquisite chef-prepared farm-sourced dishes for a delectable final evening.

Day 9 | Lake Atitlan / Guatemala City
