Itinerary

Day 1 |  Tivua Private Island

Arrive in Port Denarau to check-in to your Captain Cook Cruises voyage. Board the new and luxurious m/s Caledonian Sky and set sail over a light lunch and tropical drink as you cruise to Tivua Island. Here, you can spend the afternoon exploring the coral gardens, learn about coral planting and how to help with a clam rearing cage. Or, simply enjoy a scenic walk through the island before enjoying a South Pacific sunset back onboard.

Day 2 |  Makogai Island

For an immersive start to your morning, you are invited to attend a special choral performance of Sunday Hymns from the children of Makogai. Following the performance, explore the pristine waters of Makogai Island with a snorkel or glass bottom boat ride to experience the clam research station there. If you desire, conclude the day with a one-hour walk through Makogai's historical graveyard and old leper colony.

Day 3 |  Levuka

Arrive at Ovalau and the port of Levuka, situated off the northeast coast of the main island. Levuka was the first European settlement in Fiji and became the center of British colonial administration and trade. At its peak, the island catered to traveling sailors and gained a wild reputation, however in 1888 the capital was moved to Suva and Levuka's notoriety gradually waned. Guests have the option to participate in a walk through this now quiet historic town. In the afternoon, delight in snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, enjoy a shipwreck tour or explore the town at your leisure.

Day 4 |  Savu Savu

The second largest town on the second biggest island in Fiji, Savu Savu on Vanua Levu awaits. Explore the town and its hot-springs or visit the world-famous Justin Hunter pearl farm in search of a glistening souvenir. This afternoon, visit Whispering Tide for swimming and snorkeling with a knowledgable Marine Biologist.

Day 5 | Taveuni Island

Disembark on the western side of the Garden Island. You'll have the option to explore the beautiful Tavoro Waterfall in the Bouma National Park. Swim and relax in the peaceful setting or take a challenging hike to the second and third falls. After a picnic lunch at the national park, return to the ship or choose to join the crew at the famous natural Dateline (180th Meridian), where you can literally stand with one foot in the past and one foot in the future. Later, discover Naselesele Village to enjoy the tastes of Fiji with a traditional lovo (earth oven) feast, savoring fresh local seafood, succulent meat and tropical fruits. Then, dance to the drum of the meke and participate in an authentic kava ceremony.

Day 6 |  Kioa Islands & Viani Bay

Kioa Island was settled by the people of Tuvalu Island (also known as Ellice Island) after they were displaced by rising sea levels. Be met by these colorful people in the their traditional way and see a vibrant cultural presentation. During lunch, cruise along the south coast of Vanua Levu for an afternoon at Viani Bay with time to snorkel or relax on the beach. This evening, dress in your finest whites for a White Party, enjoying an evening of dancing and the famous Captain Cook Cruises music quiz.

Day 7 |  Nananu-i-Ra

Cruising southwest from Vanua Levu, arrive at Nananu-i-ra on the northern coast of Viti Levu for time to swim, snorkel and do some beach combing. You have the opportunity to hike the hill to marvel at stunning island and sea views. After lunch, relish one last opportunity ashore before beginning the homeward journey.

Day 8 | Lautoka

Enjoy breakfast onboard as you return to Lautoka for an early morning disembarkation. The crew will bid you farewell in song including their traditional Fijian Isa Lei as they say Sota Tale or "see you again". Enhance your cruise vacation with a post-land stay in Fiji or begin the comfortable journey home and beginning planning your next South Pacific getaway.
