Room Details

All rooms feature large in suite bathrooms with hairdryers, toiletries, heated towel racks, heated demisting mirrors and robes. All rooms also have flat screen TVs, free internet Wi-Fi access, central heating and double glazed windows, table and comfortable chairs for your comfort, refrigerator and complimentary tea and coffee facilities.
Kotuku Room includes a spacious area with two comfortable chairs for your reading and spacious ensuite bathroom. The view provides spectacular scenery of the beautiful Hokitika River and surrounding mountains. For a special occasion or anniversary, you will love the Kotuku suite.
Korimako Room offers a gorgeous, spacious large first floor (upstairs) suite. This room features a super king/twin bed. The drapes are a rich but warm mid to dark blue and the room includes luxurious bed cushions, a large ensuite bathroom and luxurious seating area for your relaxation. Enjoy the wonderful view overlooking the river and surrounding mountains.

Suite Details

Kereru Bedroom offers a stylish suite, decorated in warm soft colourings, earthy contemporary fittings. The Queen bed is complimented by large european pillows and mohair rug and the room has two comfortable chairs and table, TV, luggage racks, and opens to a large outdoor deck where you can enjoy your coffee and breakfast in the morning or glass of wine in the evening. Treat yourself to a special weekend away whether it be romance, holiday or business.
Tui Room features a luxurious large ground floor suite specifically designed to meet New Zealand disability standards. An Intimate and tranquil suite decorated in "iced" lime which is as it sounds, a lovely fresh soft lime green. "Sanderson" cushions on the Queen bed and chairs feature a poeny rose with a soft cream duvet cover and includes a spacious ensuite which is a large total mobility bathroom. This room opens on to the large outdoor deck. Perfect for a honeymoon or romantic weekend.

Guest Services

Concierge services are available in order to help guests prepare excursions such as fishing trips in the famous Hotika river.


Rimu Lodge can help organize guests' trout or salmon fishing trips. With some of the best trout fishing rivers in New Zealand, the region is renowned for brown trout with the average trout ranging from 3lbs to 6lbs.


Golf courses are available for guests to use and can be arranged through concierge services.

Nearby Attractions

Located by the sea, at the mouth of Hokitika River, Hokitika is the largest town in Westland District. It offers a range of retail, banking and other services, including jade (greenstone), gold and other minerals. Craft artists, sculptors, jewellers, painters and poets have chosen the Hokitika area as their home.
Hokitika Gorge: A half hour drive from the lodge is the Hokitika Gorge. Take in the beauty of the fine rimu forest and granite cliffs of the gorge and walk the swing bridge over tranquil turquoise blue water.
Hokitika Beach, Sunset Point, Hokitika Heritage Walk, Lake Kaniere Wakway, Dorothy Falls, Mahinapua Walkway and the Kaniere Water Race Walk are all local walking trails.
